In a significant breakthrough, members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 arrested two alleged drug traders and seized six kilograms of cannabis during a raid in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district. The operation, conducted at Katakhali area under Fakirhat Police Station, took place at around 5:40 pm on Monday following a tip-off. The arrestees have been identified as Saim Majhi, 20, from Juskhosa area in Pirojpur district, and Tuhin Hawlader, 18, from Jiodhora Bazar area in Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat.
The raid was part of RAB-6's ongoing anti-narcotics campaign under its "zero tolerance" policy against drugs. According to a RAB-6 press release, the operation was meticulously planned and executed based on intelligence gathered from reliable sources. The seized drugs were found in the possession of the two suspects, leading to their immediate arrest.
A case has been filed against Majhi and Hawlader under the Narcotics Control Act with Fakirhat Police Station. The arrested individuals, along with the confiscated cannabis, were handed over to the police station for further legal proceedings. This successful operation underscores RAB-6's commitment to combating drug trafficking and maintaining public safety.
