66 Arrested in City-Wide Police Operation Targeting Crime-Prone Areas

Police have arrested 66 individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities during special drives in multiple areas of the capital.

Police have arrested 66 individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities during special drives in multiple areas of the capital. The drives were conducted in Hazaribagh, Bangshal, Jatrabari, Uttara West, and Turag police station areas under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) jurisdiction. According to a DMP media and public relations division, these operations targeted crime-prone areas and resulted in the apprehension of suspects involved in regular and warrant cases as well as various criminal offenses.

Operation Details

Hazaribagh police conducted a special operation and arrested 19 individuals. Bangshal police nabbed seven people during similar drives. Jatrabari police carried out raids and arrested 14 people. Uttara West Police detained 15 individuals, and Turag police arrested 11 people in their drives. The DMP stated that legal proceedings against the arrestees are currently underway.

Legal Actions

Hazaribagh police have already produced the arrestees before the court after completing the necessary legal formalities. The ongoing operations reflect the DMP's efforts to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety in the capital.
