One person was killed and at least 40 others were injured after a passenger bus crashed on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Manikganj this morning. The accident occurred at around 9:30am when a Dhaka-bound Selfy Paribahan bus lost control and plunged into the median between two bridges near the Barangail bus stand. The deceased has been identified as Delwar Hossain, 50, a resident of Fulhara village under Ghior Upazila in the district. The injured were taken to Shibalaya Upazila Health Complex, Monno Medical College Hospital, and Manikganj 250-bed General Hospital for treatment. Police have sent the body to the morgue of Manikganj 250-bed General Hospital for an autopsy. The bus driver and his helper fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police have launched a drive to trace and arrest them.
