Monsoon winds have expanded across nearly half of Bangladesh, leading to rain predictions for several regions including Dhaka. The meteorological department forecasts rain in Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Rangpur divisions. Meteorologists note that rain may increase slightly compared to the previous day, potentially lowering temperatures. Yesterday, the highest temperature recorded was 37.2°C in Jashore, with no other region exceeding 36°C, indicating no heat wave conditions. Dhaka's temperature was 34.3°C, a degree lower than the previous day. Meteorologist Omar Faruk predicts rain in Dhaka after noon today. Monsoon winds entered the country a week later than usual this year but have now spread to Chittagong, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Khulna, and Barisal divisions.

Temperature and Rainfall Details

Yesterday, Dhaka's temperature was 34.3°C, one degree lower than the previous day. Today, the temperature is expected to remain bearable. The highest temperature recorded yesterday was 37.2°C in Jashore, with no other region exceeding 36°C, indicating no heat wave conditions. The meteorological department notes that over 80% of the country's rainfall is due to monsoon winds. However, this year's monsoon season may see comparatively less rain despite higher-than-normal rainfall in April and May.
