A 75-year-old man was killed in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a bus in Jashore on Sunday afternoon.

A man was killed in a road accident at Michael Mor intersection in Keshabpur upazila of Jashore district on Sunday afternoon. The deceased was Mohammad Ali, 75, son of late Mokhsed Ali Morol of Patrapara village in Keshabpur upazila. He previously served as the commander of the Keshabpur Freedom Fighters' Association.

Police said Ali was travelling by motorcycle to the Keshabpur upazila headquarters from his home when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Satkhira struck and ran over him, leaving him critically injured. He was taken to Keshabpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Sanjoy of Keshabpur Police Station confirmed the matter and said legal proceedings are underway.
