Gas supply to industrial, captive power, and CNG customers in several areas of Gazipur and Tangail will remain suspended for 16 hours on Tuesday. The suspension is due to pipeline tie-in work being carried out by Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited. The shutdown will be in effect from 8 am to 12 midnight.

Details of the Shutdown

The tie-in work will be performed on 10-inch and 20-inch, 140 PSI gas transmission lines from Joydebpur to Kumudini area in Tangail district. This maintenance is crucial for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the gas transmission network.

Affected Areas

Areas under the Gazipur division including Joydebpur, Naojore, Itahata, Kodda, Konabari, Kashimpur, Mawchak, Shafipur, Chandra (Palli Bidyut), Kaliakoir, and Mirzapur will experience the gas supply suspension. All industrial, captive power, and CNG users connected to the affected transmission lines will be impacted.

Potential Low Gas Pressure

Titas Gas has also warned that gas pressure may remain low in nearby areas during the maintenance period. This could affect other users not directly impacted by the shutdown.

Customer Inconvenience

The company expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to the customers. They emphasized the necessity of the maintenance work for long-term gas supply reliability.

Why This Matters

This maintenance is vital for the ongoing reliability and safety of the gas transmission lines. While it causes short-term inconvenience, it ensures that the gas supply network remains robust and efficient in the long run.
