Police Nab Drug Dealer with 384 Yaba Tablets and 20 Grams of Heroin in Rajshahi

A special operation in Charghat, Rajshahi, resulted in the arrest of a drug dealer with a significant haul of narcotics.

In a significant operation, Charghat police apprehended Setab Uddin, 30, with 384 yaba tablets and 20 grams of heroin. The arrest occurred in the early hours of August 2, 2026, on the Baneshwar-Charghat road in front of Charghat Women's Degree College. Authorities received a tip-off that two individuals were engaged in drug dealing in the area.

Led by Sub-Inspector Goni Chowdhury, the police team raided the location, leading to the capture of Setab Uddin. During a search, officers found the contraband concealed in a blue polythene bag in his pocket. His accomplice, Akash, managed to escape. Both individuals are now facing charges under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.

Setab Uddin, from Patiakandi village, was arrested while Akash, from Shimuliya village, fled the scene. A case has been filed at Charghat Model Police Station. The police are intensifying their efforts to apprehend Akash.

The arrest underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in Rajshahi. Continued vigilance and operations are crucial to maintaining public safety and preventing the spread of narcotics.

This incident highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement in curbing drug activities and the importance of community intelligence in achieving such arrests.
