Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 503 individuals and filed 30 cases in separate drives across the capital on Tuesday. The arrestees were apprehended in various police station areas as part of DMP's regular anti-crime operations. Legal action against the detainees is currently underway.
According to a DMP press release, the arrests included 34 from Ramna Division, 35 from Lalbagh, 41 from Wari, 82 from Motijheel, 74 from Tejgaon, 122 from Mirpur, 38 from Gulshan, 69 from Uttara, and eight by the Detective Branch (DB).
During the operations, police seized 107 kilograms of cannabis, 25 yaba tablets, gold ornaments weighing over eight Bhori, nine mobile phones, and two used motorcycles. Additionally, one victim was rescued during the raids.
These operations are part of ongoing efforts by the DMP to maintain law and order in the capital. The crackdown reflects the authorities' commitment to combating criminal activities and ensuring public safety.
