Police arrested 40 people in separate special operations across several areas of the capital, including Jatrabari, Turag and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Sunday. A suspected snatcher was also caught red-handed during an attempted robbery, according to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). In Jatrabari, police arrested 18 suspects during a special drive conducted in crime-prone areas. The detainees include individuals wanted in regular criminal cases as well as those allegedly involved in various offences. In separate operations, Turag and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police arrested a total of 21 suspects. Turag police detained 11 people, including one child in conflict with the law, while Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police arrested 10 individuals. Police said those arrested include suspects in regular and warrant-related cases, along with alleged offenders involved in different criminal activities. Meanwhile, a team from the DMP's City Admin and Logistics Division arrested a suspected snatcher, Md. Hossain Iman, 19, while he was allegedly attempting to rob a victim near Siddheswari Girls' School on Bailey Road under Ramna Police Station at around 7:00 pm on Sunday. The suspect was later handed over to Ramna Police Station for further legal action.
