A 50-year-old electrician, Yakub Ali, was killed in a road accident in Dhaka's Bijoy Sarani area on Wednesday night. Yakub, who worked as an electrician, was returning home after work when the accident occurred at the Bijoy Sarani signal. He was hit by a microbus while riding a motorcycle. Seriously injured, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead.

Yakub's son, Manik Yasin, informed Prothom Alo that his father was returning home to Mirpur on a ride-sharing motorcycle after completing work at Postgola Bridge. A microbus hit the motorcycle from behind, causing the accident. The microbus driver initially took Yakub to Kurmitola General Hospital, but his family later moved him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Inspector Mo. Faruq of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp confirmed that Yakub was declared dead by doctors around 2:15 AM. His body has been kept in the hospital morgue, and the incident has been reported to Kafrul Police Station. Yakub hailed from Olania village in Galachipa Upazila of Patuakhali and lived in a rented house in Pallabi, Dhaka, with his family. His father's name is Nur Mohammad Kazi.
