Chattogram Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has formed a 101-member rapid response team to provide emergency services during incidents of waterlogging and disasters caused by heavy rainfall, landslides in hilly areas, and tidal surges in the Karnaphuli River.

Team Composition and Leadership

The team comprises dedicated volunteers and officials, with Md Ashraful Amin, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), appointed as convener. Golam Baki Masud, Secretary of the Chattogram City Red Crescent Society, will serve as member secretary. The announcement was made at a meeting with volunteers of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society at the Chattogram City Red Crescent Society office in Tiger Pass.

24-Hour Monitoring Cell

Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain announced the establishment of a 24-hour monitoring cell with the assistance of Red Crescent volunteers. This cell will ensure that the rapid response team is prepared to respond promptly to any disaster or emergency.
