Barrister Mosharraf Hossain Named New CID Chief in Bangladesh

Additional Inspector General of Police Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain has formally assumed charge as the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain has officially taken charge as the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He was previously the Director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI). A 15th BCS Police cadre officer, Hossain joined Bangladesh Police as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 1995. Throughout his nearly three-decade career, he has served in various roles including CID, DMP, CMP, RAB, Police Headquarters, Police Academy Sardah, and as superintendent of police in Pirojpur and Chapainawabganj. He holds a master's degree in Economics from Islamic University, Kushtia, and a Bar-at-Law from City University of London, UK. He has also received specialized training in forensic science and modern policing both domestically and internationally. Senior CID officials welcomed him at the charge-taking ceremony.
