The Directorate of Bangladesh Legal Aid Services has realized a total of Taka 363.89 crore in compensation for insolvent justice seekers from 2009 to May 2026. According to the directorate's monthly update, Taka 356,86,15,237 was realized through its 64 district legal aid offices, and another Taka 7,03,11,916 was realized through its two labour legal aid cells in Dhaka and Chattogram. A total of 14,87,663 people have received legal aid since the organization's inception in 2009.
Of the total beneficiaries, 12,20,044 received services through the district legal aid offices. Additionally, 2,06,703 people received legal advice by calling the national toll-free helpline number 16699, and 30,696 people received services from the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office.
The Directorate of Bangladesh Legal Aid Services operates under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. Its mission is to provide legal assistance to those who cannot afford it, ensuring access to justice for all.
