Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted a 24-hour operation, arresting 460 individuals and filing 49 criminal cases.

At least 460 people were arrested in a 24-hour citywide operation by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), with 49 criminal cases filed. The arrests were made during routine operations across different police divisions in the capital. The largest number of arrests was recorded in Mirpur Division with 126, followed by Tejgaon (62), Wari (57), Motijheel (56), Uttara (47), Ramna (39), Gulshan (34), Lalbagh (33) and the Detective Branch (6).

Seized Items

During the raids, police seized 12,084 yaba tablets, 120 grams of cannabis, and 100 bottles of Eskuf syrup, along with Tk 4,800 in cash. The suspects were arrested from different police station areas of Dhaka, primarily on allegations related to narcotics and other criminal offences.

Legal Proceedings

Legal proceedings against those arrested are currently underway, according to the DMP. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat criminal activities in the capital.
