The US military has begun its 11th straight night of strikes against Iranian military targets, according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM). These strikes are aimed at degrading Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM stated that the strikes, which started at 2300 GMT and concluded at 0015 GMT, targeted Iranian military operations centers, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure.

Escalating Conflict in the Middle East

The Middle East has seen heightened tensions and attacks, with Iran allegedly attacking over 30 commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz in the past three months. These attacks have endangered hundreds of innocent mariners and undermined the freedom of navigation.

US Efforts to Ensure Safe Passage

In response to the escalating threats, the US military has facilitated the transit of about 900 vessels through the Strait of Hormuz since early May, allowing the passage of 450 million barrels of crude. The US continues to assert its commitment to maintaining maritime security in the region.
