The relationship between the United States and Israel may face long-term consequences due to Israel's disregard of President Trump's call to avoid retaliating against Iran, according to Israeli analyst Ori Goldberg.
Goldberg, speaking to Al Jazeera, highlighted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ignored Trump's appeal not to respond to Iranian attacks, leading to heightened tensions between the two nations.
This decision follows a heated phone conversation between Trump and Netanyahu, where Trump expressed his disapproval of Netanyahu's plans for further airstrikes in Beirut, Lebanon.
Goldberg also noted the differences in leadership styles between Trump and Joe Biden, suggesting that Netanyahu's actions under Trump's presidency would be more challenging under Biden's leadership.
Furthermore, Goldberg believes that Israel, without US support, is not in a position to engage in full-scale conflict and is politically weakened both internationally and domestically.
