US President Donald Trump has called on Iran to return to the negotiation table following a missile attack on Israel. Addressing Tehran, he said, 'You have fired missiles, now stop it. Come back to the negotiation table and make a deal.'
Trump told Fox News that Iran must return to negotiations and make a deal, stating, 'This (missile attack) will certainly not help the negotiation process.'
The US President added, 'We were very close (to a deal). I would say a deal would have been signed by Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. And then this happened.'
Trump also informed Axios' Barak Ravid that he would call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and urge him not to attack Iran in response to the missile strike.
Regarding the Israeli attack on Beirut, Trump told Fox News he is 'not happy' with the incident.
Earlier on Sunday night, Iran fired missiles targeting Israel. The Israeli military stated they had intercepted all Iranian ballistic missiles so far. Sources indicate at least 10 ballistic missiles were intercepted.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed they targeted the Ramat David Airbase, approximately 20 kilometers from Haifa in northern Israel, with ballistic missiles.
The IRGC accused the Israeli airbase of being the 'source of aggression' in southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs.
