Humayun Kabir Proposes Resigning Assembly Seat for Mamata Banerjee After Election Loss

Humayun Kabir, who recently left TMC and formed a new party, has offered his assembly seat to Mamata Banerjee.

Humayun Kabir, former TMC leader and current MLA from Murshidabad, has proposed to resign his seat in the West Bengal assembly to allow Mamata Banerjee to contest from there. Mamata lost her seat in the recent elections. Humayun won two seats but decided to retain one and resign the other. He stated that if Mamata requests, he will ensure her victory in the by-election.

Humayun Kabir left TMC after being expelled for announcing the construction of a Babri Masjid in his constituency. He formed the 'Aam Janta Unnayan Party' and won two seats in the recent assembly elections. Mamata Banerjee lost her seat in Bhawanipur to BJP's Shubhendu Adhikari.
