Over 400 drones targeted the Moscow region overnight, with most being intercepted by air defense forces. However, at least two people were wounded in the attacks, authorities reported on Monday. The drones, which were neutralized at distant approaches, caused damage in several areas including Podolsk, Domodedovo, and Odintsovo. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that 85 UAVs were destroyed on approach to Moscow. Governor Andrey Vorobyov detailed that a fire at a private house in Domodedovo and a drone falling near a vehicle on the M-4 highway resulted in the injuries. Domodedovo Hospital reported six people, including three foreigners, were hospitalized with blast wounds, though it is unclear if these injuries are linked to the drone attacks.

Ukraine has intensified its strikes on Russian territory in recent months, describing them as retribution for years of bombardments against its own territory. This escalation follows a significant ballistic missile attack by Russia on Kyiv, which killed one person and wounded 16, according to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Moscow region, particularly Domodedovo which is home to an international airport, has been a focal point in the ongoing conflict. The attacks highlight the escalating tensions and the increasing use of drone technology in modern warfare.
