China Signals Intent to Strengthen Cultural Relations with Bangladesh

Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Yao Wen expressed Beijing's eagerness to collaborate with Bangladesh in elevating cultural exchanges to a higher level during a meeting with Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury and State Minister Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom. The envoy underscored the integral role of cultural exchanges in fostering greater mutual understanding and deepening traditional friendship between the two nations.

In a statement following the meeting, Yao Wen highlighted that cultural exchanges are a vital component of China-Bangladesh relations. He engaged in in-depth discussions on strategies to further strengthen these exchanges, emphasizing their irreplaceable role in promoting mutual understanding and friendship.

Yao Wen expressed hope that China and Bangladesh would work together to elevate bilateral cultural exchanges. A cultural affairs ministry official confirmed the ambassador's approach, noting that recent cultural exchanges between the two countries have yielded fruitful outcomes and expressing a willingness to deepen cooperation in this area.

The meeting also focused on strengthening experience-sharing and mutual learning, as well as practical cooperation in culture and arts and the protection of intangible cultural heritage. Cultural Affairs Secretary Kaniz Moula was present at the discussions.

The significance of cultural exchanges in enhancing bilateral relations cannot be overstated. As China and Bangladesh continue to explore new avenues for cooperation, cultural diplomacy remains a key pillar in strengthening their ties. The meeting reflects a shared commitment to fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of each other's cultures.
