Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman departed Dhaka today for a five-day official visit to Turkey, invited by the Turkish government. The visit aims to further enhance and strengthen bilateral defence cooperation and relations between Bangladesh and Turkey. During his stay, General Waker-Uz-Zaman will inspect various defence industrial establishments in Turkey and hold courtesy meetings with senior officials of the Turkish armed forces and key defence stakeholders, according to a press release from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate.
The visit underscores the growing strategic partnership between the two nations in the defence sector. Turkey, known for its advanced defence industries, has increasingly become a key partner for Bangladesh in modernizing its armed forces. General Waker-Uz-Zaman's inspection of defence establishments will provide insights into Turkey's capabilities and potential areas for collaboration.
