The 10th Cadet, Junior, Under-21 and Senior South Asian Karate Championship and the 2nd South Asian Under-14 Karate Cup will begin tomorrow at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka. The two-day event, scheduled for July 18-19, is being organized by the South Asian Karate Federation with the support of the Bangladesh Karate Federation. A total of 565 athletes from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka will compete in various age-group and senior categories. State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque is expected to inaugurate the championship as the chief guest.
Pre-tournament Activities
Ahead of the championship, a day-long Asian Coaches' licensing examination was held today at the Parbatya Chattogram Complex Auditorium in Bailey Road, Dhaka. The examination saw participation from 45 coaches representing Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates.
