Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan is elated after making a significant contribution to Galle's victory in his debut match in the Lankan Premier League (LPL). Opening the innings, Sohan scored a rapid 29 off just 13 balls, including three fours and a six, setting the stage for Galle's total of 220-6. Dambulla Sixers were restricted to 176-7, resulting in a 44-run win for Galle.
"Alhamdulillah, it feels great. The best feeling is that I was able to contribute to the team and help us win the match," Sohan said after the game. He revealed that he found out about his selection in the morning and discussed the strategy with coach and captain Dasun Shanaka.
Sohan's aggressive approach provided Galle with early momentum, allowing the middle order to build on his start and post a competitive total. He hopes to maintain this form throughout the tournament. "Our team is also doing well. I hope I can finish the tournament strongly," he added.
The Bangladesh batter also acknowledged the support from Bangladesh's cricket fans, whose passion motivates him. "The love people in Bangladesh have for cricket is different from anywhere else. It's hard to express in words. When we don't perform well, we also feel bad. When we do well, they are the first people we think of. It's a different feeling. I am trying to do well in this tournament, and hopefully we can finish it on a high," Sohan said.
