Hridoy revealed that the players had an honest discussion after the opening defeat, which helped them adapt better to the conditions. "When we lost the first match, we had a meeting and discussed the conditions and how we would go forward. Our boys really played well after that; both the bowling and batting units," he said.

Hridoy also praised leg-spinner Rishad Hossain for making an immediate impact and opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim for guiding the chase with another composed innings. "We know about Rishad's ability. When he gets the opportunity, he comes in, shows his character and dominates the bowling here," Hridoy noted. On Tanzid, he added: "He's a class batsman. We know his ability, and whenever he gets in, he always tries to finish the game and show up for the team."

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza believed his side fell just short with the bat, saying they were around five to 10 runs below a competitive total on a surface that became increasingly difficult for batting. "I thought 155. We realized this is a typical Bulawayo wicket that's going to get harder to bat on, and it did. I just think we were maybe five to 10 runs short," Raza said. He admitted Zimbabwe's poor fielding ultimately proved decisive.
