Bangladesh to Observe Holy Shab-e-Meraj on January 27 Night

The Islamic Foundation has confirmed that the holy Shab-e-Meraj will be observed on the night of January 27. The decision was made following the sighting of the holy month of Rajab's moon on January 2, as per the Islamic calendar.

The national moon-sighting committee met at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on January 2 to make the decision. The meeting was chaired by the Religious Affairs Ministry's advisor, AFM Khalid Hossain.

Attendees included the Islamic Foundation's Director General A. Salam Khan, Information Department's Chief Information Officer Mo. Nizamul Kabir, Bangladesh Waqf Administration's Administrator Mo. Fakhrul Islam, Religious Affairs Ministry's Additional Secretary Mo. Saiful Islam, and Baitul Mukarram National Mosque's Khatib Mufti Mo. Abdul Malek.
