Hajj, a spiritual journey of rebirth, instills profound changes in a pilgrim’s life. To sustain these changes, it is crucial to maintain consistent worship, avoid sins, engage in righteous company, and keep the memories of Hajj alive.
The Prophet (PBUH) emphasized the importance of regular worship, stating that consistent, even small acts of worship are most beloved to Allah (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 6465). Additionally, avoiding major sins is vital, as Allah promises to forgive minor sins for those who abstain from major ones (Surah Nisa, Ayah: 31).
Righteous company plays a significant role in preserving the spirit of Hajj. The Quran advises associating with those who remember Allah (Surah Kahf, Ayah: 28). The Prophet (PBUH) also highlighted the influence of companions, likening good company to a perfume seller and bad company to a blacksmith’s forge (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2101).
Keeping the memories of Hajj alive, such as the prayers at the Kaaba and the emotional moments at Arafat, helps maintain the spiritual feelings. Observing increased devotion to Allah post-Hajj is a sign of an accepted Hajj.
