A false statement purportedly made by independent Member of Parliament Rumin Farhana, claiming that only Jamaat-e-Islami engages in politics for the sake of the country while others do it for money, has been spreading on social media. Verification efforts have confirmed that Rumin Farhana never made such a comment.

The misleading post, featuring Rumin Farhana's picture, was shared by a profile named 'ছাত্রশিবির মিডিয়া' and received nearly 7,000 reactions and 640 shares. Another page, 'টিপস অব মাহমুদ' with 51,000 followers, also shared a similar post which garnered over 6,000 reactions, 1,000 shares, and more than 300 comments.

Investigations revealed no credible sources or verified media reports confirming that Rumin Farhana made such a statement. Her verified Facebook profile also lacks any such comments. The admin of 'টিপস অব মাহমুদ' admitted to mistakenly sharing the post and removed it after being contacted.
