The Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) has added six new leaders to its political council. The new members include two reserved women seat MPs, Nusrat Tabassum and Mahmuda Alam Mitu. The total number of members in the political council now stands at 18. The addition was announced in a press release signed by NCP office cell member Sadia Farzana on Thursday night.
In addition to Nusrat and Mahmuda, the new members are NCP joint convener Sarwar Tushar and Ali Ahsan Junayed, joint member secretary Akram Hussain, and Saleh Uddin Sifat. The press release stated that the six leaders were added to the political council on the directives of NCP convener Nahid Islam and member secretary Akhtar Hossain.
The other 12 members of the NCP political council are convener Nahid Islam, member secretary Akhtar Hossain, chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam, spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, senior joint convener Samantha Sharmin and Ariful Islam Adib, senior joint member secretary Nahida Sarwar, senior joint chief coordinator and MP Abdul Hannan Masud, and MPs Atikur Rahman Mojahid and Abdullah Al Amin.
