On the occasion of World Environment Day, the National Citizen Party (NCP) distributed over 400 tree saplings to students of three schools in Mirpur. The event was led by Ariful Islam, NCP's mayoral candidate for the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election. The saplings were distributed at Mirpur Bangla High School, Adarsha Girls School, and Mirpur Development Committee (MDC) School as part of a week-long tree distribution program organized by NCP's Dhaka North branch.
Ariful Islam stated that children are the future and providing them with free tree saplings will make them more aware of their responsibilities towards the environment, nature, and being good citizens. The week-long program was inaugurated at the NCP office last Saturday and will continue throughout the week in various schools under the Dhaka North City Corporation.
Other NCP leaders present at the event included Abdullah Mansoor, Imran Naim, Rana Khan, Rehana Ruma, Tahmina Juthy, and Jhummuri Shipa.
