Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal today said the national flag displayed on official vehicles symbolizes integrity, justice and responsibility rather than privilege or showmanship.

Significance of the National Flag

Speaking at an exchange of views at the Netrakona Circuit House as the chief guest, Kayser Kamal urged government officials to serve the people as employees of the Republic and uphold the sacrifices of the July mass uprising. The Deputy Speaker stressed the importance of increasing afforestation, ensuring administrative accountability, and improving public services at the grassroots level.

Development and Accountability

Expressing concern over the district's low forest cover, he directed the district administration and the Forest Department to raise it to at least one percent within the next six months. Kayser Kamal also criticized the tendency of officials to remain confined to district headquarters and asked them to regularly visit remote areas, including educational institutions, to ensure better service delivery.

Referring to the distribution of the new Family Card, Farmer Card and Health Card, he warned that no favouritism or political influence would be tolerated and said the benefits must reach deserving people. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Khandakar Mushfiqur Rahman highlighted the district's development priorities, including establishing a children's park and improving infrastructure to unlock Netrakona's tourism potential.
