LGRD and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called for an end to the debate on the implementation of the July Charter. Speaking at the ‘July Martyr Journalist Honouring Ceremony’ organised by the National Editors Council at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), he highlighted efforts to spread confusion about the Charter and urged the opposition to join the Constitution Amendment Committee to resolve the debate through talks.

Call for Unity and Change

Mirza Fakhrul emphasized the need for the opposition to move beyond a mentality of opposing everything. He called for a major change to address the prevailing flattery in various institutions, including the media. The minister stressed the importance of implementing the promises made by the BNP to form a state of justice.

Focus on Future Generations

Highlighting the significance of the July Movement, Mirza Fakhrul noted the opportunity it created to form a new state. He stressed the necessity of introducing a system through parliamentary discussions to ensure that future generations do not resort to violence. The minister acknowledged the challenges of cleaning the nation from the misdeeds of the past 16 years but expressed confidence in the government's efforts to implement the BNP's promises.
