Inkilab Mancha held a protest march from Dhaka University's central mosque to the Raju sculpture, demanding the identification of local culprits, repatriation of fugitives, and swift justice for the murder of Shahid Sharif Osman Bin Hadi. Speakers at the rally vowed not to return home without achieving justice.
GA Sabbir, a central committee member of Inkilab Mancha, stated that they had given the government a week to address their demands after a previous protest. He criticized the government for not taking the matter seriously and announced that Inkilab Mancha would approach relevant authorities to inquire about the progress of the case.
Salahuddin Ammar, General Secretary of Rajshahi University Students' Union (RAKSU), accused the government of using the murder as a political tool. He emphasized the necessity of the government taking action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Osman Hadi, who was the convener of Inkilab Mancha and an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election, was shot on December 12 and died in Singapore on December 18. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch filed charges against 17 individuals on January 6, but the case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation on January 15. The CID has yet to submit its investigation report.
