Hasnat Abdullah, the South Regional Chief Organizer of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and a member of parliament for Comilla-4, has accused the BNP government of making the police its party servants, similar to the previous Awami League government. He also alleges that the BNP has undermined the independence of the judiciary by dissolving the Judicial Secretariat and influencing judicial appointments.
Abdullah made these accusations during a press conference organized by the district NCP in Jhenaidah, following an incident where Nasiruddin Patwari was attacked with eggs. He criticized the police for their role in the incident and questioned their neutrality.
He further alleged that the BNP is attempting to politicize the judiciary by placing it under the Ministry of Law, similar to the Awami League's approach. Abdullah expressed concern that the police and judiciary are being used as tools by the ruling party, undermining their independence and integrity.
