208 individuals have been charged under the anti-terrorism act following a banned student league rally in Comilla, with 48 being sent to jail.

208 individuals have been charged under the anti-terrorism act following a banned student league rally in Comilla's Matiara area on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. 48 of them, including several minors, have been sent to jail by the court.

The rally, organized under the banner of the banned student league, involved anti-government slogans and attempts to disrupt public order. Police arrested 45 individuals during the rally and three more in subsequent raids.

The case was filed by SI Ahsan Habib of Comilla Sadar South Model Police Station under the anti-terrorism act. The accused are alleged to have been funded and directed by AKM Bahauddin Bahar, Mohammad Israfil Pias, and Ehtesam-ul-Haq Bhuiyan.
