Opposition Deputy Leader Abdulla Mohammad Taher has expressed concerns over the alleged influence of S Alam Group on Islamic Bank Bangladesh Limited. Speaking in the Jatiya Sangsad, he criticized the appointment of individuals associated with S Alam Group, alleging that it undermines the integrity of the bank.
Taher called for the bank to be managed by honest and competent individuals, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public trust. He also questioned the recent changes in the bank's leadership and ownership structure, demanding transparency and accountability.
The opposition leader warned that failure to address these concerns could lead to public unrest and further instability in the banking sector. He urged the government to ensure the bank's management is free from undue influence and corruption.
