The new model aims to offer greater flexibility and improve earnings opportunities for both full-time and part-time drivers.
Under the new hybrid subscriptions, drivers can select a time-based subscription pass that provides them with access to the platform during specified hours, or an earnings-based pass that adjusts according to their earnings. This choice is designed to cater to the varying needs of drivers, enabling them to maximize their earnings while maintaining flexibility in their schedules. Drivers will continue to earn 100% of their trip earnings, with the subscription fee being the only additional cost.
The introduction of this model is part of Uber's broader strategy to improve the experience for both drivers and riders. By offering more choices, Uber hopes to encourage more drivers to use the app, thereby enhancing the overall safety and convenience for riders. Rezvi emphasized that by giving drivers more choice, Uber is making it easier for them to access earning opportunities while continuing to provide a reliable and safe experience for riders. This initiative is expected to reduce barriers for new drivers, encouraging more participation on the platform.
