Today, Monday, the second working day of the week, the country's currency market is operating with exchange rates remaining largely unchanged. According to Bangladesh Bank, the dollar rate remains unchanged at an average of 122.75 taka. Most major currencies, including the Euro, Pound, Yuan, Australian Dollar, Rupee, Singapore Dollar, and Yen, also show no change in their rates.
The foreign exchange market has been volatile for several months due to various factors including the Middle East crisis. However, the rates in the open market are slightly higher than those published by the central bank. Fluctuations in foreign exchange rates also impact the country's business and trade costs.
