Masud Khan Named New BSEC Chairman; Three Commissioners Appointed

Masud Khan, Chairman of Unilever Consumer Care Limited and Group CEO of Crown Cement PLC, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for a four-year term.

Masud Khan, Chairman of Unilever Consumer Care Limited and Group CEO of Crown Cement PLC, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for a four-year term. Additionally, three new commissioners have been appointed to the BSEC. The appointments were announced today by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance. Earlier, the previous Chairman of BSEC, Khandker Rashed Maksud, and four commissioners resigned from their positions.

The three newly appointed commissioners are Nafiz Al Tariq, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank Securities; Nahid Mahtab, a lawyer from the Supreme Court; and Tanveer Habib Rahman, Director (Finance) of Asha International. The previous Chairman and commissioners resigned citing personal reasons.

New Appointments

Masud Khan's appointment as Chairman and the three new commissioners are expected to bring new perspectives and strategies to the BSEC. Their roles will be crucial in regulating the securities market and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
