The cost of heart stents may decrease by up to 20,000 Taka following the withdrawal of 10% VAT at the supplier level, as announced by the Finance Minister in the budget speech. Additionally, VAT and advance tax on dialysis filters and blood tubing sets for kidney patients have been removed to reduce their costs.

Impact on Kidney Patients

The removal of 15% VAT and 5% advance tax on dialysis filters and 7.5% VAT on blood tubing sets is expected to lower the cost of dialysis by up to 800 Taka per patient, according to the Finance Minister.
