The government has identified ten priority sectors to ensure inclusive and equitable economic growth. These sectors include development, education, health, social security, investment, energy, information technology, environment, and sustainable state capacity. The priorities were outlined by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury during the budget session in the Jatiya Sangsad.

The government aims to ensure balanced participation and benefits across all social classes and regions. Efforts will be made to create skilled human resources through a practical, skill-based, and values-driven education system. Universal access to quality healthcare is also a fundamental right that the government plans to ensure.

Social security will focus on creating a life-cycle-based safety net, aiming to bring citizens of all ages and levels under social protection. The government plans to promote planned industrialization, export diversification, and technology-driven economic activities to create new entrepreneurs and increase employment. Agriculture will be strengthened as a strategic sector for production, livelihood, and national food security.

The business environment will be simplified through deregulation to reduce delays and unnecessary processes in government services, creating a transparent, easy, and affordable business-friendly environment. Financial sector stability will be ensured by increasing discipline, transparency, and accountability in banks and financial institutions, along with restoring depositor confidence. Capital market reforms will encourage investment.

Energy security is a top priority, with the government committed to ensuring uninterrupted power and fuel supply to maintain production continuity. Affordable, reliable, and environmentally friendly energy systems will be promoted to achieve self-reliant energy security. The ICT sector aims to make Bangladesh a major global ICT exporter by enhancing technological inclusion and innovation-driven development.

Environmental and water resource management will focus on climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and community-driven afforestation programs. River navigability restoration and canal excavation programs will be reinitiated. Sustainable state capacity will be built through merit-based, efficient, and accountable administrative systems, improving the efficiency of government investment implementation.
