Narayanganj-3 MP Azharul Islam Mannan announced a special plan to make the historic region of Sonargaon more globally recognized. He stated that Sonargaon is not only significant to Narayanganj district but also a crucial center of Bangladesh's history, tradition, and culture. Various initiatives are being considered to enhance its international recognition by leveraging its potential.
MP Mannan made these remarks during his speech as the chief guest at the Upazila Ain-Srinkhala Committee meeting held at the Sonargaon Upazila Parishad conference room on Monday (June 8) morning.
He also mentioned that under the Prime Minister's directives, several developmental activities have been initiated within just four months of the BNP government assuming office. He has raised various issues related to Sonargaon's problems and potentials in the Jatiya Sangsad.
MP Mannan instructed the administration to take a firm stance against extortion, robbery, and terrorist activities in Sonargaon. He emphasized that no criminals would be spared in improving the law and order situation.
He expressed concern over the spread of illegal lime factories in Sonargaon and highlighted the severe inconvenience caused to the general public due to illegal shops occupying footpaths in the Kachpur and Mograpada Chowrasta areas of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
MP Mannan urged journalists to publish fact-based news against illegal occupations and irregularities causing public suffering. He warned that strict measures would be taken against any influential groups or individuals attempting to exert pressure.
