A mobile court in Rajshahi fined Rahat Enterprise Tk 10,000 for selling foreign chocolates and lozenges without Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) quality certification and clearance. The enterprise, located in the lane of Saheb Bazar Kali Mandir, was also found to have brought in the products illegally without valid import documentation. The court, led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Farhana Hossain, conducted the drive at the initiative of the BSTI Divisional Office. Engineer Junaid Ahmed, Officer of the Certification Marks Wing of BSTI Divisional Office, acted as the prosecutor. The Rajshahi Metropolitan Police were also present during the operation. In addition to the fine, special monitoring was conducted at M/s Nayan Petroleum Agency and M/s Afrin Filling Station in the Talaimari area to prevent illegal stockpiling of petrol, octane, and diesel, as well as to ensure correct weight and measurement. The BSTI drives in Rajshahi will continue regularly to prevent adulteration and ensure the supply of quality food products.
