Railways Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam announced that Bangladesh Railway aims to increase its share of the country’s total domestic freight from the current 3 to 4 percent to a significantly higher percentage. Speaking in Jatiya Sangsad, the minister outlined the government’s short, medium, and long-term strategies to expand freight handling capacity and revenue.
