Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) detectives arrested an alleged drug peddler with 1,000 yaba tablets during a raid in the Sonadanga Model Police Station area of the city. The arrest took place following a tip-off and a subsequent operation by the Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB).

Details of the Arrest

The suspect, identified as Md. Shakil Jamaddar, 28, son of Salam Jamaddar and a resident of Hajibari Mor area under Khulna Sadar Police Station, was apprehended during the raid. The operation was conducted at around 7:30 pm on July 5 in front of Runner Motorcycle Showroom on M.A. Bari Road at Gollamari.

A case has been filed against Shakil under the Narcotics Control Act with Sonadanga Model Police Station. The swift action by the police highlights their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
