The government is working tirelessly to ease the suffering of people affected by the recent floods in Chattogram and will take comprehensive rehabilitation measures once floodwaters recede, said State Minister for Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs and the Land Ministry Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin. Speaking during visits to flood-hit areas in Satkania and Banshkhali upazilas, Mir Helal assured residents that the government would continue to stand by them and work to restore normal life as quickly as possible.

He directed field-level government officials to ensure the prompt and equitable distribution of relief without discrimination. He also instructed the administration to carry out housing reconstruction and rehabilitation programmes for affected families efficiently.

Senior officials of the local administration, public representatives and political leaders accompanied the state minister during the visits and assisted in the relief operations. Meanwhile, Prime Minister's Political and Industrial Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi also visited several flood-affected areas of Chattogram district and distributed emergency relief among affected residents.

During the visit, emergency food supplies were distributed to 1,500 severely affected and vulnerable families. The flood situation in Chattogram has caused significant distress, and the government's swift response aims to provide immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation to those impacted.
