State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam today underscored that building a clean and green Dhaka is one of the current government's top priorities. Speaking at a meeting to review tree plantation, beautification, waste removal, and waste bin replacement activities under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), he emphasized the need for visible progress at the field level rather than limiting efforts to meetings or planning.

The state minister's remarks came during a review meeting at the Local Government Division at the Secretariat. A presentation at the meeting highlighted the overall progress of tree plantation and beautification activities undertaken by the two city corporations, ongoing programs, and future action plans.

Mir Shahe Alam directed authorities to accelerate ongoing activities and assess the effectiveness of pilot projects before undertaking new large-scale projects. He instructed the preparation of an updated list of locations where tree plantation, beautification, and cleanliness activities are being carried out.

The state minister also emphasized the importance of regular supervision and effective field-level monitoring of cleanliness activities. He noted that the Prime Minister closely supervises and inspects these activities, stressing that every initiative must be realistic, effective, and visible.

Calling upon all concerned to work together to implement the government's 'Clean and Green City' initiative, the state minister concluded by highlighting the collective effort required to achieve this goal.
