Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has declared that any form of irregularities, nepotism, or political influence will not be tolerated in the distribution of relief to flood-affected areas. Speaking to reporters after providing relief to flood victims in the Khankhanabad Union of Banshkhali, Chattogram, the minister emphasized that strict actions will be taken promptly if any allegations of irregularities arise.
Dulu assessed the excavation work of the Purba Dhomra Jalkadar Khal in Ward No. 5 of Khankhanabad Union and indicated that the government is closely monitoring the natural disasters affecting several districts, including Sylhet, Habiganj, and greater Chattogram. He assured that sufficient relief has been allocated promptly following the Prime Minister's directives and reiterated the government's zero-tolerance policy for corruption or nepotism.
The minister stressed that political considerations should not influence relief distribution, and aid must reach all flood-affected individuals. He also discussed the government's strategy to designate one exemplary canal in each of the 50 districts, expressing optimism that the Jalkadar canal in Banshkhali would be selected as a model.
Local MP Md Zahirul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam Miah, Anwara Circle Assistant Police Superintendent Mahmudul Hasan, Banshkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ruhul Amin, former Upazila BNP convener Master Lokman, and other local public representatives and administrative officials were present during the minister's visit.
