The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,239 cases against motorists for violating traffic rules across the capital during the last 24 hours. The Traffic Division of the DMP carried out enforcement drives across different parts of Dhaka until 6:00 pm on Tuesday to improve road discipline and ensure compliance with traffic regulations. During the drive, police dumped 573 motor vehicles and towed away 228 others for various traffic violations.

The cases were distributed across several traffic divisions: 101 in Ramna, 224 in Lalbagh, 231 in Motijheel, 528 in Wari, 409 in Tejgaon, 328 in Mirpur, 181 in Uttara, and 237 in Gulshan.

The DMP stated that such enforcement drives will continue regularly to enhance road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and encourage motorists to follow traffic laws. These efforts are part of ongoing measures to improve the traffic situation in Dhaka, one of the most congested cities in the world.

Improving traffic discipline in Dhaka is crucial for reducing accidents, easing congestion, and ensuring a smoother commute for the city's millions of residents. The DMP's proactive approach reflects a commitment to making the roads safer for everyone.
