The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 46 individuals in separate operations across the capital. Forty-three suspects were apprehended during routine drives in crime-prone areas in the Tejgaon Division, while three alleged drug dealers were arrested in Jatrabari. The operations were part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and drug trafficking in the city.
Tejgaon Division Operations
The 43 suspects arrested in the Tejgaon Division were detained in various locations. Nineteen were held in Mohammadpur, ten in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, six in Hatirjheel, three each in Adabar and Tejgaon Industrial Area, and two in Tejgaon. These arrests were made during routine drives aimed at maintaining law and order in known high-crime areas.
Jatrabari Anti-Drug Raids
In a separate operation, Jatrabari Police's Sayedabad outpost arrested three alleged drug traffickers in two raids conducted on July 13 and 14. Police seized 1.8 kg of cannabis, 50 yaba tablets, and Tk 2,620 believed to be proceeds from drug sales. These raids underscore the police's commitment to combating drug trafficking in the city.
