Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 3,287 people during special drives from July 1 to 10 across various areas of Dhaka. The operations, conducted by different DMP units, targeted criminal activities to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
Breakdown of Arrests by Division
The Ramna Division arrested 311 individuals, Lalbagh Division 204, Wari Division 388, Motijheel Division 378, Tejgaon Division 501, Mirpur Division 741, Gulshan Division 312, and Uttara Division 414. Additionally, the Detective Branch (DB) arrested 36, and the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested two.
Seized Items and Crimes Targeted
During the drives, police seized various illegal items including drugs, firearms, and other contraband. The operations targeted drug trafficking, narcotics-related crimes, and other offenses. Assistant Commissioner Arifa Akhtar Prity stated that such operations will continue to strengthen public security.
